The international conference “After Vienna. The Season of Congresses (1820-1822)” was held at VIVE

On Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11, an international conference was held between Palazzo Venezia and the Sala della Crociera of the Palazzo del Collegio Romano as part of the collaboration between VIVE, the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento and the Rome committee of the same Institute.

On Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11, the international conference “After Vienna. The Season of Congresses (1820-1822)” as part of the collaboration between VIVE, the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento and the Rome committee of the same Institute. 

The conference-which was widely attended-was opened by greetings from VIVE Director Edith Gabrielli and the Director of the Rome Committee of the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento Francesco Guida. 

The scholars delved into the years following the Congress of Vienna (1814-1815) and the system of congresses that emerged during the Restoration period in order to preserve and verify the conditions of stability in the European framework. In particular, the papers focused on the congresses of Aachen, Troppau, Ljubljana and Verona, organized following the revolutions that broke out between 1820 and 1821 in Greece, Spain and Italy.
