Fashion at Palazzo Venezia

The history of costume will be at the centre of this itinerary which aims to introduce children to the art gallery of Palazzo Venezia through the topicality of this theme.

Attention will be focused on the analytical observation of women's and men's clothing from the 14th to the 18th century: the height of the waist, the presence or absence of a neckline, the cut of the sleeves and more, will make it possible to follow the evolution of fashion over the centuries and trace the revival of lines or styles in contemporary fashion. 

Details such as handkerchiefs, gloves, jewellery, hairstyles will make it possible to discover current social, cultural, religious or political trends, proving to be useful clues for dating a work of art and necessary pieces for the historical reconstruction of an era.

In the museum rooms, students will have the opportunity to stand in front of some paintings they have chosen, for the graphic elaboration of sketches for clothes or accessories to be assembled later in class.

The cost of the visit is 5 euro, in addition to the cost of the VIVE entrance ticket.

Please note that up to the age of 18 the entrance fee is free of charge, and between 18 and 25 it is only 4 euro.
