The Thousand stories of VIVE
A Guided tour of Vittoriano and the exhibition Open City 2025. Rome in the Jubilee Year
Sunday, September 28, 11.00 AM

A visit to Vittoriano is an unmissable experience for anyone wanting to delve into Italian history and art. Conceived in 1878 to honor the first King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II, and the entire Risorgimento process, the complex has housed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other historical monuments since 1921. Participants will enter through the monumental gate on Piazza Venezia, ascend to the Altar of the Fatherland and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and observe the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II on horseback. The tour continues through the vast spaces of Piazzale del Bollettino and Sommoportico, finally reaching the spectacular Panoramic Terrace to enjoy a unique view of the city of Rome. The tour concludes inside the exhibition Open City 2025. Rome in the Jubilee Year, which offers visitors a photographic look at the city of Rome. This guided tour is themed around "Architecture: the art of building," as part of the 2025 European Heritage Days, promoted by the Ministry of Culture (MiC).
