On Thursday 26 September, a delegation from the Danish Academy and the Carlsberg Foundation visited the Victor Emmanuel II Monument, accompanied by Edith Gabrielli, Director of VIVE - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia.

The visit was divided into three distinct moments: an introduction on the history of the Vittoriano and the role of the VIVE institute by the Director, a presentation of the restoration of the gilded bronze elements of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument by Susanna Sarmati, and then a tour of the Monument, with particular attention to the mosaics of the Sommoportico and the panoramic terrace, from which visitors were able to admire the unique view of the capital's urban fabric.

The visit offered participants a unique opportunity to explore the artistic, cultural and historical importance of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument.
