The project involves the marble sculptures depicting The Adriatic Sea by Emilio Quadrelli and The Tyrrhenian Sea by Pietro Canonica, the gilded bronze sculptures depicting Il Pensiero by Giulio Monteverde and L'Azione by Francesco Jerace, and the flagpoles by Gaetano Vannicola with the Vittorie by Edoardo Rubino and Edoardo De Albertis.
The restoration, directed by Edith Gabrielli and carried out by Susanna Sarmati, aims to ensure the conservation of the works and restore their full legibility, including the gilded finish of the bronze elements.
The site will be conceived, on the model of that of the Altar of the Fatherland as an "open" building site, so that citizens and tourists will have the opportunity to observe the operators live, climb up onto the scaffolding during guided tours, and to check the progress of the work through a "restoration diary", i.e. a video report published every week on the VIVE institutional website.
The work will begin on 4 March 2024 and will be carried out in three phases, ending on 25 September 2024. The entire cost is borne by Bulgari through the Art Bonus and under the terms of the agreement signed on 29 December 2023.
