Between History, Images and Imagination
Following the visit to Palazzo Venezia, participants discover the figure of Paul II Barbo and daily life within the Renaissance residence. Through stories, images and observation of the Palace’s spaces, each child creates a small artist’s book using collage, decorated paper, stamps and natural materials. The workshop encourages personal storytelling and transforms the experience of the visit into an illustrated narrative.
Decorating like Renaissance Workshop Artists
Drawing inspiration from the frescoes, stuccoes and decorations of Palazzo Venezia, children experiment with some of the artistic techniques used in Renaissance workshops. Using plaster, colours, the spolvero technique and simple decorative methods, they create their own artwork inspired by the elements observed during the visit.
Art, Memory and Creativity
Inspired by the Vittoriano and its symbols, participants reflect on the meaning of monuments as places of memory. They then design and build a small monument using card, clay, recycled materials and mixed techniques, choosing the value or person they wish to celebrate.
Drawing, Observing and Telling the Story of the City
After observing the view from the Vittoriano Terrace, children are invited to represent the city through illustrated maps, sketches and collages. The workshop encourages observation skills, orientation within the urban landscape and a personal interpretation of Rome’s cityscape, transforming each participant into a young explorer and storyteller of the city.
