My VIVE: words, colors and emotion

Animated tour between Palazzo Venezia and Vittoriano

A secret garden, a market, and two majestic complexes: browsing the ancient and modern maps of Piazza Venezia is like stepping back in time through an illustrated history book. This animated tour leads the audience through the historical and artistic events of this area of Rome and its buildings: Palazzo Venezia, one of the city's most distinguished Renaissance residences and the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy. Each participant will create their own "emotional map" to collect a snapshot of the Vittoriano, the details and colors of the frescoes at Palazzo Venezia, the story that most captured their imagination, and a proposal for the future of the city.

Workshop at Palazzo Venezia

Palazzo Venezia, the historic residence of popes and ambassadors, is also a precious artistic and architectural testament to the Renaissance. The visit leads to the discovery of Palazzo Venezia collections and the spectacular ceiling by Giorgio Vasari in the Altoviti Room. The itinerary allows visitors to discover a universe of knowledge, materials, and techniques used by the workshops of Renaissance artists. After observing decorative forms and ornamental details in person, participants will experiment in the workshop with trompe l’oeil and spolvero (pouncing) techniques, as well as plaster stucco work.

Focus on Rome: photographing the city

Animated tour at the Vittoriano

In addition to being an extraordinary work of art, Vittoriano represents a privileged vantage point for observing Rome, the capital of Italy, through a 360° overhead view. During the tour and workshop, visitors step into the shoes of photojournalists, training their eyes to discover new perspectives and recording their own visions using cameras, magnifying glasses, viewfinders, notebooks, and pencils. Inspired by the evocative views of the city from the Panoramic Terrace and the Sommoportico, each participant creates entirely individual visual narratives and emotional landscapes.
