On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, at 5 p.m., on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the VIVE proposes an inclusive itinerary that includes a tactile visit to Palazzo Venezia. Thanks to the presence of a dedicated LIS interpreter, Palazzo Venezia is exceptionally accessible to deaf people. The meeting will be conducted by an expert operator who will lead us to discover the museum's heritage through a multisensory approach.
In the silence of Palazzo Venezia's garden, we will discover a rich selection of botanical species, among which we will recognise different barks, unexpected scents and some uniquely shaped leaves. The tour will continue with a tactile exploration of certain materials such as the travertine of the Loggia Grande. Inside the Palazzo we will tell the stories of some historical figures, including Cardinal Pietro Barbo. We will also refine our tactile plantar sense in order to distinguish certain details of the terracotta floors, and we will have fun identifying the plant motifs and varieties of fruit carved in marble on the door panels that separate the rooms of the ancient flat.
