Visit to Palazzo Venezia in Italian Sign Language (LIS)

Art and History at the Service of All
Guided tour for adults in Italian Sign Language
Saturday 14 September, 10.30 a.m.

For many centuries the residence of popes, cardinals, ambassadors and artists, Palazzo Venezia is an ancient and majestic Renaissance residence in the heart of Rome. Few buildings in the city, perhaps none at all, contain such a heritage of history, art and culture. The tour in Italian Sign Language, conducted by a specialised deaf educator, opens up the severe and imposing façades like the walls of an ancient fortress and reveals inside a complex of loggias, walkways and gardens, with precious plants and essences, rooms so large that they take your breath away, and masterpieces from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century. The visitor is thus removed from car traffic and led along the thread of a subtle balance between dream and admiration.
