Visitors can discover the Vittoriano in the evening hours by participating in exploratory walks and animated visits that will take them on a journey through time, tracing the footsteps of artists, musicians, philosophers, and directors.
A visit to the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, or Vittoriano, is an unmissable experience for anyone, Italian or not. The complex, conceived in January 1878 in honor of the first king of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, and the entire Risorgimento process, has housed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other memories of our history since 1921. Participants enter through the monumental gate on Piazza Venezia, ascend to the Altar of the Fatherland and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, observe the equestrian statue of Victor Emmanuel II, and will be breathless before the dimensions of the Piazzale del Bollettino and the Sommo Portico, finally reaching the spectacular Panoramic Terrace at the summit to enjoy a unique view of the city of Rome.
