Tactile experience at Palazzo Venezia: Lapidarium

Art and History at everyone's service
Tactile tour for families
Saturday, July 18, 2026, 10:30 AM

The activity offers a tactile tour dedicated to families, aimed at discovering Lapidarium of Palazzo Venezia through inclusive, multisensory, and participatory methods.
The itinerary takes place within the suggestive setting of the upper loggia of the secret garden of Pope Paul II and leads participants to discover Lapidarium located in the cloister of Palazzetto. This important exhibition core preserves about one hundred and twenty marble works dating from the classical era to the Renaissance.
The experience will allow visitors to approach the artifacts through direct contact with surfaces, reliefs, volumes, and ornamental details, fostering a deeper perception of the material and plastic qualities of the works. The tactile reading will be accompanied by a narrative that connects the finds with their historical context of origin, reconstructing the events that led to their creation, use, and subsequent rediscovery.

LOCATION: Palazzo Venezia, entrance of Palazzo Venezia, via del Plebiscito, 118
