This March 19th, we celebrate Father’s Day with a special visit.
We will descend into the storage rooms of Palazzo Venezia to admire a wooden sculpture of Saint Joseph, donated to Palazzo Venezia in 1952 by Margaret Nicod Sussman and originating from the Pollack collection.
With his thoughtful expression and half-closed eyes, the elderly man in a red tunic seems to be awaiting the birth of a child, reflecting on his future—a moment of deep connection and mutual love. The artwork was most likely part of a Nativity scene composed of multiple figures.
As a truly exceptional event, we have decided to make this sculpture visible to the public on this day dedicated to fatherhood.
