The guided tour takes participants on a discovery of Palazzo Venezia, one of the iconic buildings of the Roman Renaissance, retracing its history, architectural transformations, and the various functions it served over the centuries.
During the visit through the rooms of the palace, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the parade shield created by Giovanni Stradano to commemorate the 1554 Battle of Scannagallo near Marciano, a pivotal event that marked the definitive triumph of Medici power in Tuscany and paved the way for the conquest of the Republic of Siena.
The artwork is displayed as part of the cycle Restorations: from storage to the visitor route, an initiative aimed at offering in-depth insights into a selected group of works from the VIVE collections representing various eras and techniques.
LOCATION: Palazzo Venezia, Palazzo Venezia entrance, Via del Plebiscito, 118
