The Sala della Crociera, now home to one of the branches of the Library of Archeology and History of Art, is located in the building of the Roman College. Founded between 1581 and 1584 as the headquarters of the Society of Jesus, the Palace of the Roman College hosts todays the Liceo Visconti and the Ministry of Culture. The Sala della Crociera holds magnificent bookshelves with rare volumes, and preserves intact the cozy atmosphere of the Major Library, where the friars and students of the prestigious institute of the Roman College once studied. This place is a rare jewel unknown to most, which for the first time opens its doors for guided tours that will allow you to admire its beautiful spaces, as well as precious antique books.
