The Vittoriano was designed by architect Giuseppe Sacconi in honor of the first King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, in 1882-1883; construction continued until the 1930s. Considered the highest symbol of a united and independent Italy, the Vittoriano quickly became a central place in the collective imagination of the Nation. Adults and children are invited to discover its history, architecture, and art with an animated narration tailored for them. Visitors embark on a journey through time, traversing staircases and panoramic terraces, admiring the city from above with a breathtaking view, and finally reinventing the places of exploration by creating illustrated postcards, full of suggestions and colors.
