The initiative offers an educational itinerary dedicated to families that integrates the discovery of the museum collections with a workshop experience aimed at learning the artistic techniques of portraiture.
Starting from the observation of some of the portraits displayed in the museum halls, such as Il ritratto dei figli di Virginio Orsini and the Doppio ritratto attributed to Giorgione, the tour will continue in the room hosting the pastels from the collection of George W. Wurts and Henrietta Tower.
During the visit, each participant will be invited to choose a portrait from those observed and create a preparatory sketch from life, developing skills in observation, synthesis, and image interpretation.
The activity will continue in the workshop, where children and adults can directly experiment with the pastel technique. Starting from the sketches made during the tour, participants will be guided in reworking and completing their artwork through the use of color and blending techniques.
