Moonlight postcards from the Vittoriano

Visitors can discover the Vittoriano in the evening hours by participating in exploratory walks and animated tours to take participants on a journey through time in the footsteps of artists, musicians, philosophers and filmmakers.

The Vittoriano was designed by the architect Giuseppe Sacconi in honour of the first king of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II, in 1882-1883. The work was prolonged until the 1930s. Considered the supreme symbol of Italy united and independent, the Vittoriano soon became a pivotal place in the nation's collective imagination. Young and old are invited to discover its events, architecture and art with an animated narrative tailor-made for them. Visitors set off on a journey through time, walk up flights of steps and panoramic terraces, admiring the city from above thanks to the breath-taking view, and finally reinvent the places explored by creating imaginative and colourful illustrated postcards.

This tour costs 5 euros. The cost of the visit is in addition to the admission charge to VIVE. 

Up to 18 years old admission is free and between 18 and 25 years costs only 3 euros*.

* From June 15 to September 15, under Decree Law No. 61 of June 1, 2023, the cost of the entrance ticket to the VIVE - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia is increased by 1 euro. The measure is aimed at financing interventions for the protection and reconstruction of cultural heritage damaged by the floods that occurred in May in Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Marche.
