Liberation Day at VIVE – Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia

Stories from Vittoriano

Guided tour for adults
Thursday, April 25, 4 p.m.

Eighty-one metres of stories, written over more than sixty years, carved in bronze and marble, stored in the rooms of an enormous stone book. The story of a mountain fragment from the eastern front. The story of an ancient Roman goddess who protects citizens and warriors. The story of the Unknown Soldier, who became a symbol of Italian unity and national identity.
On Liberation Day, the VIVE offers the public the chance to participate in free guided tours dedicated to the Vittoriano and the rediscovery of Italy's cultural heritage and history: the visit delves into the many stories that the Monument contains and the symbols and values it represents, in order to reflect together on some key concepts such as identity, unity and Nation.
