The Founding of Palazzo Venezia: the Barbo Family at the Heart of Rome

This tour explores the origins of Palazzo Venezia and the life of Pietro Barbo, the future Pope Paul II. Visitors will learn why the residence was built in a strategic area of the city, close to the Capitoline Hill and the centre of political and civic life in fifteenth-century Rome.
