Children and families at VIVE
Interactive tour and creative workshop for families
Sunday, August 9, 2026, 4:00 PM

The history of costume will be at the heart of this tour, which uses the timeless relevance of this topic to introduce young participants to the collections of Palazzo Venezia.
Attention will focus on the analytical observation of men’s and women’s clothing from the 14th to the 18th century: waistline heights, the presence or absence of necklines, sleeve cuts, and more will allow participants to trace the evolution of fashion over the centuries and discover how past lines and styles resurface in contemporary fashion.
Details such as handkerchiefs, gloves, jewelry, and hairstyles will reveal ongoing social, cultural, religious, and political trends, serving as useful clues for dating a work of art and essential pieces for the historical reconstruction of an era.
Inside the museum rooms, participants will have the opportunity to select specific paintings to use as inspiration for creating their own sketches of clothing or accessories.

LOCATION: Palazzo Venezia, Palazzo Venezia entrance, Via del Plebiscito, 118
