Visitors can discover the Vittoriano in the evening hours by participating in exploratory walks and animated tours that will take them on a journey through time, tracing the footsteps of artists, musicians, philosophers, and filmmakers.A visit to the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, or Vittoriano, is an unmissable experience for anyone, Italian or not. Conceived in January 1878 in honor of Italy's first king, Victor Emmanuel II, and the entire Risorgimento process, the complex has housed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other memories of our history since 1921. Participants will enter through the monumental gate on Piazza Venezia, ascend to the Altar of the Fatherland and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, observe the equestrian statue of Victor Emmanuel II, and be awestruck by the size of the Piazzale del Bollettino and the Sommo Portico. Finally, they'll reach the spectacular Panoramic Terrace at the summit to enjoy a unique view of the city of Rome.
