Discovering Vittoriano

The thousand stories of VIVE
Guided tour for adults
Sunday, July 19, 2026, 5:00 PM

The visit to Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II, or Vittoriano, represents an unmissable experience for anyone wishing to delve deeper into Italian history and art. The complex, conceived in January 1878 in honor of the first king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II, and the entire Risorgimento process, has welcomed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other memories of our history since 1921. Participants enter through the monumental gate on Piazza Venezia, ascend to Altare della Patria and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, observe the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II on horseback, and are left breathless by the scale of Piazzale del Bollettino and Sommoportico.

LOCATION: Entrance of Vittoriano, Ara Coeli side
