Discovering the Vittoriano

The thousand stories of the VIVE
- guided tour for adults
- Sunday 15 December 2024, 11 a.m.

A visit to the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument, or Vittoriano, is an unmissable experience for anyone who wants to learn more about Italian history and art. The complex, conceived in January 1878 in honour of the first king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II, and of the entire Risorgimento process, since 1921 has housed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other memories of our history. Participants cross the entrance through the monumental gate on Piazza Venezia, climb up to the Altare della Patria and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, gaze at the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II on horseback, and remain breathless in front of the dimensions of the Piazzale del Bollettino and the Sommoportico.
