This guided tour takes participants on a discovery of Palazzo Venezia, one of the iconic buildings of the Roman Renaissance, retracing its history, architectural transformations, and the various roles it has played over the centuries. The itinerary introduces the museum and its collections, focusing on the primary artistic techniques represented, with a special emphasis on bronze working. As part of the series Reintegrations: from deposits to the visitor route, a work by Antonio Ximenes dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi will be presented. Inspired by the classical clipeus (round shield), this commemorative shield—celebrating the hero of two worlds and the expedition of the thousand—serves as a starting point for a reflection on artistic language and the symbolic value of commemorative sculpture in the 19th century.
