Bronzes, majolica, silverware and terracotta: Palazzo Venezia houses one of the richest collections of applied arts in Rome. From the Middle Ages to the Baroque, from East to West, the museum brings together artistic masterpieces that constitute a vast intangible heritage of traditions, knowledge and techniques from centuries past. Walking through the evocative rooms of the majestic Renaissance residence, visitors are led to discover the knowledge and practices behind the making of an artistic artifact: the working of precious metals, the terracotta studies for the great marble works created by Bernini, the decorative techniques of ceramics and majolica from the main Italian and European workshops.
The Arts and Crafts guided tour at Palazzo Venezia offers an opportunity for the public to share a reflection on "Living Heritage," a precious wealth to be preserved and enhanced that is celebrated in the 2023 edition of the European Heritage Days, promoted by the Ministry of Culture (MiC).
