Descartes presents us with an image of human nature fundamentally linked to feeling and language as expressions of our reason. Today, the two facets of this image are at the very heart of empirical research and the achievements of artificial intelligence. What, then, remains of human nature?

Simone Gozzano teaches Philosophy of Mind and Metaphysics at the University of L’Aquila, where he serves as the Director of the Department of Human Sciences. He is the author of several essays and books on his subjects of expertise and has spent various periods conducting research and study in the USA, the UK, and China.
