On Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 December 2023, VIVE - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia and the Archivio Centrale dello Stato, in collaboration with the Center for Studies on Culture and Image of Rome and the University of Rome Tor Vergata, is organizing and hosting an important international conference: “The Vittoriano and the work of Armando Brasini”. Scientific organization by Mario Bevilacqua, Claudia Conforti, Maria Grazia D'Amelio, Andrea De Pasquale and Edith Gabrielli.

Armando Brasini (1879-1965) is one of the protagonists of Italian architecture of the first half of the twentieth century: in 1931 he was the only Italian invited to Moscow to participate in the competition for the Palace of the Soviet (1931). The Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, or Vittoriano is among Brasini's most significant works: the architect was responsible, among other projects, for the design and construction of the eastern wing, on via dei Fori Imperiali.
