A tour dedicated to the permanent collection of Palazzo Venezia, exploring paintings, sculptures, bronzes, ceramics, ivories, arms, textiles and goldsmiths’ works to understand the concept of the applied arts and the relationship between function, technique and aesthetics.

The history of the Palace from its medieval origins to the twentieth century, exploring its architectural transformations and the political role it played over the centuries.

Themes: from medieval houses to the Renaissance palace; Paul II Barbo and the origins of the Palace; the Embassy of the Republic of Venice; transformations from the modern to the contemporary era; the Palace during Fascism; architecture as an expression of power and representation.

The tour presents the Vittoriano as a symbolic place in the construction of Italian identity, exploring its architectural language and civic significance. Particular attention will be devoted to the origins of the monument, the figure of Victor Emmanuel II and the Altar of the Fatherland, while addressing the key concepts of unity, freedom, citizenship and memory.

A tour through the Central Museum of the Risorgimento to explore the formation of the Italian State and the political, social and cultural changes that took place between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Beginning with an analysis of the European historical context in the nineteenth century, the tour will examine the outbreak of the Wars of Independence, the birth of the unified Italian State and the First World War, before addressing the broader theme of the construction of national identity through documents, works of art and historical testimonies.

Through portraits, historical artefacts and documents, the tour explores the figures who contributed to the process of Italian unification, highlighting the relationship between ideals, politics and civic participation.
