The tour is dedicated to the Altar of the Fatherland and to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the two crucial points of the Vittoriano that are also among the founding elements of the Italian national identity. The touching events concerning the burial of the unknown soldier, from the “law on the fallen individual” to the choice of the body, from the burial ceremony to the construction of the Tomb, will explain why the monument is a symbol of Italian Armed Forces, and will reveal a particularly difficult and intense period of the Italian history.
