The Library Revealed: The Sala della Crociera in the Palazzo del Collegio Romano on the National Day for the Promotion of Reading

Guided tour of the Sala della Crociera

To mark the National Day for the Promotion of Reading, a special guided tour will enable the public to discover one of the many treasures of Rome: the Sala della Crociera, now home to an annex of the Library of Archaeology and Art History, the most important specialist public institute of the Ministry of Culture. The 16th-century room, covered with magnificent shelves containing rare editions, preserves intact the atmosphere of the time when it was called the Biblioteca Major and students of the prestigious institute of the Roman College, founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola, studied here.

Information and reservations

Admission and tour are free of charge. Reservations required by Thursday, March 23.
