Vittoriano
On the occasion of International Women's Day, the VIVE institute, according to the guiding line of the General Management of Museums, invites all women and their kids to join a special animated tour dedicated to the architectural and artistic heritage of the Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia.
The tour takes the visitors on a journey to discover the many lives and historical stages of the palace: from the Renaissance in papal Rome to the celebrations of the Roman Carnival, from the Venetian ambassadors to the creation of one of the richest collections of applied arts in the Italian capital, from the splendid Cerere portrayed by Vasari in a fresco in the Altoviti Hall to the statue of the Goddess Rome who stands in the center of the monument to Vittorio Emanuele II. Come to discover the stories safeguarded by the two female statues who “inhabit” the garden of Palazzo Venezia, the Venice of the sculptor Carlo Monaldi and the so-called "Madama Lucrezia", one of the “talking statues” of Rome, who guards the entrance to the palace.
A journey between female paintings and female stone sculptures, who narrate the many stories of the city and represent the creation of the image of a new nation. The animated tour, which includes some short activities along the way, ends on the spectacular panoramic terraces of the Vittoriano, from which to admire Rome.
