The deposits of Palazzo Venezia

Paid Guided tour

The deposits are real "treasuries" to be discovered. Since they were opened, thanks to the recent rearrangement, visitors may enter almost the most secret part of the museum but, above all, have the opportunity to better appreciate the complex work carried out every day inside the museums: from the choice of works for installations to taking care of the art pieces that are not exposed and that, however, need to be restored, preserved and made approachable. Particularly important is the collection of silver, with pieces produced by the major manufacturers of Europe, from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century. Another precious section is dedicated to ivories. Among the porcelains, the huge Japanese and Chinese pieces stand out, in contrast to the miniaturist grace of some masterpieces of nineteenth-century European productions, such as "the sleigh" and "the carriage". Finally, do not miss the small collection of Venetian painted glass.
