Week 10. The frieze and water seepage

"Another rather obvious degradation phenomenon on the frieze are these water percolations along the joints of the blocks that form, in some areas, even very thick deposits of limestone, reaching 2-3 cm," says restorer Susanna Sarmati.

These days a team of experts is verifying how to intervene on the water infiltration, and in the coming weeks a specific site will be opened to figure out how to solve this problem that affects the decorative apparatus of the frieze.
