An agreement was signed today in the Sala della Crociera in the Palazzo del Collegio Romano, headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, between the VIVE Institute - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia and the Directorate of Works and State Property (Direzione dei Lavori e del Demanio - Geniodife) of the General Secretariat of Defense and National Armaments Directorate (Segretariato Generale della Difesa e Direzione Nazionale degli Armamenti - Segredifesa).
This is an operating agreement to enhance security, technological innovation and energy efficiency at the Vittoriano in Rome, with a 17 million euro project.
Funding for the work is guaranteed by the Ministry of Culture under the "Strategic Plan Major Cultural Heritage Projects" and the Defense General Staff. The project, which is based on an organic approach to the monument, includes the innovation of facilities, energy efficiency and a single Fire Prevention Certificate, with a coordinated management center.
The synergy behind the agreement between the two ministries represents a concrete step in the protection and enhancement of the Vittoriano, a symbolic monument of Rome and Italy designed by architect Giuseppe Sacconi, an iconic place for its historical, institutional and artistic value and a destination for more than 3 million visitors each year.
