The restoration of "The Tyrrhenian Sea" - Start of work and scaffolding

Scaffolding on the fountains of The Tyrrhenian Sea and the "open construction site" model

The restoration project began with the marble sculpture depicting The Tyrrhenian Sea, created by Pietro Canonica of Piedmont (1869-1959).

First of all, care was taken to set up the provisional works in accordance with the project, adopting the most suitable techniques for the material treated - Botticino marble - and obviously complying with specific safety regulations.

The construction site is designed as an "open" construction site so that citizens and tourists have the opportunity to observe the operators live, to climb on the scaffolding during guided tours, and to check the progress of the work.
