Women of the Risorgimento: stories of courage for International Women's Day

On 8 March, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the VIVE adheres to the Ministry of Culture's initiative of free admission for women to state museums and cultural sites.

At 4.30 pm, women will be able to participate free of charge in the visit Women of the Risorgimento: stories of courage.

The tour will examine, in depth, some of the female figures who played a key role in the Risorgimento process, carrying out a political, civil and intellectual commitment aimed at crowning the dream of a united Italy.

The protagonists of the visit will be courageous women such as Giuditta Sidoli Bellerio, Anita Garibaldi, Colomba Antonietti, and Jessie White Mario: their exploits and their devotion to the Italian cause will be highlighted by the photographs, paintings, and personal memoirs kept in the Museum.
