An expert guide in museum accessibility leads visitors to get to know Palazzo Venezia through a multisensory approach. The tour starts in the garden to recognise among the many species the shaggy barks of Japanese palms, the sweet scent of magnolia flowers and the serrated leaves of acanthus plants. This is followed by a tactile exploration of the Loggia Grande and the telling of the story of the building's founder, Pope Paolo II Barbo. Finally, inside, participants refine their tactile plantar sense on some of the details of the floors, identify the decorative motifs on the door displays and compare the types, textures and patterns of the different materials used from the Renaissance to the present day.
