The Renaissance at Palazzo Venezia

The Thousand Stories of VIVE
- Sunday 19 November, 11 a.m.

Palazzo Venezia is a symbol of the Roman Renaissance for its architectural forms inspired by the work of Leon Battista Alberti, its sculptural and pictorial decorations, such as the frescoes of the Chamber of the Labours of Hercules, and the great historical figures who have crossed its threshold. The visit is a walk in the Rome of the past. The rooms of the palace will conjure up before our eyes the passion of Pope Paul II for collecting artworks, the popular celebrations for Carnival and the visits to Palazzo Grimani of the great intellectuals of Europe, from Pietro Bembo to Erasmus of Rotterdam and the extraordinary library of Cardinal Domenico Grimani.
