Palazzo Venezia and its museum

Guided tour on the weekend in Italian and in English

The palace, built first as a cardinal's residence which later became a papal residence, represents not only a turning point in architecture in Rome, but also a place of considerable historical importance. From papal residence to embassy of the Serenissima, up to today's destination as the headquarters of cultural institutions, the palace preserves within its walls the memory of countless events and of the people who animated them: sumptuous banquets and great dances, consistories and conspiracies, cardinals and popes, kings and ambassadors, but also composers such as Mozart and Rossini. The tour includes the complete itinerary: apartments, monumental halls, museum collections, small palace.
