Marble women, painted women for International Women's Day

On Friday, March 8 on the occasion of International Women's Day, VIVE is joining the Ministry of Culture's initiative to provide free admission for women to state museums and cultural sites.
At 5.30 pm, women will also be able to participate in the free tour "Marble women, painted women": it is a journey among painted women and women in stone, depicting as in a silent atlas the many stories of Rome and the construction of the imaginary of a new nation.
The first stop is Madama Lucrezia, one of the six talking statues of Rome, which guards the entrance of Palazzo Venezia to St. Mark's Square; then we move on to Carlo Maratti's 17th-century Cleopatra on the second floor of Palazzo Venezia, and finally to Angelo Zanelli's Goddess Roma, which stand at the center of the monument to Vittorio Emanuele II.  The visit ends on the spectacular panoramic terraces of the Vittoriano, where you can admire Rome from above.
