How an Art Collection Is Born

How does a collection come into existence? What is a chamber of wonders? VIVE answers these and other questions through a special itinerary. It starts with the an animated reading of the book Monsters & Wonders. Cabinets of Curiosities Throughout Time by Delphine Jacquot and Alexandre Galand, it continues with a walk through the piano nobile of the building and ends with a workshop. Porcelain, silver, maiolica, bronzes, an armoury and even a Sea Monster enable visitors to discover that each collection is the mirror of its collector's tastes as well as of an entire era, yesterday as today. Children and adults together create an unprecedented project of a family collection in which collecting the “wonders” of Palazzo Venezia. With How an Art Collection Is Born, VIVE is participating in Kid Pass Days, a national event devoted to families to discover cultural heritage, offering adults and children the opportunity to share an experience at the museum.

Information and reservations

This tour costs 5 euros. The cost of the visit is in addition to the admission charge to VIVE. 

Up to 18 years old admission is free and between 18 and 25 years costs only 2 euros.
