An Evening at the Vittoriano

The thousand stories of the VIVE
Guided tour for adults
Friday 9 August, 8 pm

Visitors will discover the Vittoriano in the evening hours through exploratory walks and animated tours that will take them on a journey in the footsteps of artists, musicians, philosophers and filmmakers. A visit to the Victor Emmanuel II Monument, or Vittoriano, is an experience not to be missed. The complex, conceived in January 1878 in honour of the first king of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II and the entire Risorgimento process, since 1921 has housed the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other memories of our history. Participants will enter through the monumental gate on Piazza Venezia, ascend to the Altar of the Fatherland and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, gaze at the statue of Victor Emmanuel II on horseback and be amazed by the Piazzale del Bollettino and the Sommoportico. The tour will end on the spectacular Panoramic Terrace from which visitors will enjoy a unique view of the city of Rome.
