Family workshop in Italian
Sunday, October 13, 2024, 4 p.m.

Palazzo Venezia, the historic home of popes and ambassadors, is also a precious artistic and architectural testimony to the Renaissance. The tour leads to the discovery of the decorations and frescoes of the sumptuous Sala del Mappamondo, the monumental Sala Regia, and Giorgio Vasari's spectacular ceiling in the Altoviti Room. The tour will allow visitors to learn about a universe of knowledge, materials, and techniques put to work by the workshops of Renaissance artists. After live observation of decorative forms and ornamental details, in the workshop participants will experiment with the techniques of trompe l'oeil and spolvero, as well as working with plaster stucco.
