Domenica di Carta at VIVE - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia

On Sunday, October 13, the VIVE Institute is offering a children's workshop and a guided tour in Italian at the Library of Archaeology and Art History, on the occasion of “Domenica di Carta” the initiative of the Ministry of Culture that promotes special openings to the public of public and private archives and libraries.

On Sunday, October 13, on the occasion of  Domenica di Carta 2024, the initiative of the Ministry of Culture that every year promotes the extraordinary opening to the public of public and private archives and libraries, the VIVE Institute - Vittoriano and Palazzo Venezia offers a workshop for children (7 -11 years old) and a guided tour in Italian to the Library of Archaeology and Art History.

On the special opening day, the “Create your own ex libris” workshop allows children to enjoy the Archaeology and Art History Library, which is normally not accessible due to age restrictions. An opportunity to discover the Library and learn what an ex libris is. It is a label, usually adorned with a motto and coat of arms, that is applied to a book to indicate its owner. Children will have the opportunity to try their hand at making - using paper, cardboard and pencils - their own ex libris, as a memento of their activity and to use for their personal library. During the workshop, parents will be able to discover the history of the Library, its collections and some of its ex libris through a guided tour.

Visit to the Library of Archaeology and Art History
Guided tour for adults in Italian

A tour to discover the history of the Library, its collections and ex libris, which are labels applied to a book to indicate its owner, starting with a display of volumes showing examples. The guided tour will begin in the atrium of Palazzo Venezia and will take place in the Library's reading rooms.
