The Monumental Halls of Palazzo Venezia — the Sala del Mappamondo and the Sala delle Battaglie — will be closed to the public from April 9, 2025, through Spring 2026 to allow for essential structural reinforcement of the building and restoration of the rooms’ decorative elements, including ceilings, wall paintings, and floors. At the same time, the spaces will be part of a broader refurbishment of Palazzo Venezia’s infrastructure, in line with the new exhibition design overseen by VIVE Director Edith Gabrielli and architect Michele De Lucchi, which will involve the entire main floor.
The Sala Regia, currently hosting the exhibition “Guglielmo Marconi: Seeing the Invisible,” will remain open to visitors until April 24th.
