These rooms are part of the grandiose substructures created by Giuseppe Sacconi to keep the Monument standing. The architect decided to place the Crown Museum here. Restored in 2016, they are intended to house the narration of the history of the Monument.

In a side room there is the so-called 'Camino Sacconi', a brick work that incorporates part of a Roman wall found during the demolitions and left intact inside the Monument. It is decorated with ancient marbles that emerged during these demolitions and with a mosaic panel. This is the trial that Antonio Rizzi (1869-1940) made in 1914 during the long gestation of the cartoons for the lunettes of the Propylaeum of Unity.
